This may seem a bit odd, but I'm interested how people have the top of there firefox browsers laid out, what buttons, toolbars, themes etc they use.

Try to keep images no more than 1000px wide if possible to make it easier to follow for people with smaller screens.

Here is mine:

theres mine, I like to have access to the main menu for some reason :o
got some extra quick buttons down the bottom too

Do you do really long Google searches or something? :D

These days I just use the default theme with some rearrangement:

Desktop is exactly the same except Vista.

it's part of the bookmarks toolbar. i gave up trying to get rid of it. when customising the icon layout if i move it i end up with a ridiculously long google searchbar:

it has a certain aesthetic value
you tried checking to see if everythings unticked in the toolbars menu (view, toolbars). Last time I had a spare 'bar' it was down to leaving one ticked :)

Can you not just right click > untick "bookmark toolbar" ?

All on one bar. I also personally never really find the use for the Google search bar. I prefer just hitting home (Google.co.uk), stuck over time.

if i do that the icon layout goes with it i think. i'm not going to try and emulate what i've just done, but i've managed to reduce the 'spacewasting' bar by a few pixels :D

you could move the google bar to the menu bar, then just remove the bar that google is currently in altogethor.
