Post your first pc's specs!

OOoooo.. not my first, but I had a P75 as well. Fantastic chip at the time :-)

Wasn't technically my first either - but i've totally forgotten what i used at uni...

Agreed, great chip for the time, it cost me the equavalent of 'mega bucks' at the time as i had also just bought my first house (approx 21 - just left uni) and had added a 'home improvement' extra to buy it :) - that's how expensive they were back than (as you will know yourself).

Computers are so cheap now,'relatively' (price : power), compared to back in 'the/our day'

Making you feel old? (i know i am) :/

Some good old specs coming from a lot of people, seems a lot of people had 486 DX 33's my friend had one also, faster than my sx 25 but i had 16mb ram and he only had 8, so he needed a boot disk to run worms and i didnt! Oh and micro machines! Lol

Pentium 90Mhz
16MB RAM
4MB Cirrus Logic Graphics
1GB HDD
16bit sound blaster
Windows 3.1

I think it cost £2k+, would have been £2.5k for the top of the line Pentium 100Mhz.

Pentium 133
16MB Ram
2mb on board graphics
1.2gb Quantum fireball HDD
Sound blaster 16
Windows 95

Cost was £1000 in 1997

It ran Duke Nukem 3d demo so I was happy!

A week after I swapped keyboards with my friend who had a Packard Bell (he got his computer a year before me) I still use the same Packard Bell kayboard today

Don't remember the specifics but I believe the important bits were (I think) :

Pentium 233MMX
Voodoo 2 8MB
128MB RAM
Sound Blaster 16
10GB HD

Felt pretty darn pimpin' using dial-up and everything. Also remember a cheesy 3Dfx egyptian themed fighter demo, or was it a benchmark/test.

Hazy mind but here goes:

Cyrix 486 (cant remember what mhz it was ?), 64mb ram, 100mb hard drive, tulip vga card, adlib soundcard, windows 3.1, 14" vga monitor, desktop case (flat one with monitor on top).

Used to play a lot of Duke Nukem and seems a lifetime away from what is around now! I still had an amiga 1200 in full use at the same time, used to dream of a pc that could run amiga stuff. At least those things came true with winuae :)

Cyrix MII 233mhz
32 or 64mb RAM
Voodoo2, later upgraded to SLI with my xmas/birthday money
4GB harddrive

Slot loading CD-ROM
15" CRT monitor and dial up.

Felt cool having 2 internet computers in the house, I got spoilt back then as my parents had only just split.

First PC - Sinclair PC200
In a flat case like an amiga
8086
512MB
3.5" HDD
CGA colour to the TV but came with a text black and white screen.

I did have some green screen effort before that with 128MB Ram .. 8088 ... but I can't really remember much else about it.

All wrapped in in an enormous tower case.

Amstrad 2086

Something similar to this was my first PC

All these old specs remind me of having to make a boot disc in dos to try and squeeze a few kb of extra memory so games would function, with things like sound :p
