Post your idle temps

Q6600 @ 3.2 on the Kandalf LCS case WC. Not great but there we go.

I know it's in everest, but thats the only application I had open at the time :P

Intel's TAT shows it being about 5 deg hotter, so take it or leave it :)

This may seem a silly question but how do you capture those screenshots that some of you have attached??

Thanks.

what do you mean?

if you mean quote then just click quote and type below

if you mean post then use 'Print Scrn' paste into paint (or other photo prog) save and upload to somewhere like imageshack, then paste code they give you into here (direct link code for full image)

EDIT: or if you mean 'whats that software?' then just search title of scrshot on google and download (most are free)

Use snipping tool under accessories if on win7 or vista it's an inbuilt screen capper.

Some of the temps in here are way way off q6600 @ 3.2 should be around 35-40c idle not 20 lol.

Myself included ran the wrong tj max setting for years.

what should the tjmax be set at?

I have been reading about tj max for a while now and it seems nobody really knows only best guesses from what I can gather Q6600 old revision is 100c and Q6600 G0's are 90c.Trying to get my head round the whole TJ max thing myself I think idling on an overclocked 65nm duo or quad at around 30c seems much more plausible than the low 20's I get with a tj max setting of 85c on my 6420.

Since nobody answered so far, how do you get an accurate reading on a K10?

Given that there are lots of results scattered around the web of 20 C idle for Athlon-II CPUs, it seems if these are wrong we must all have incorrect settings set somewhere...? So how to fix it?

i've already said "people with AMD K10 cpus should monitor the CPU temp reading... " not core temp

in hwmonitor the CPU temp is tmpin0 or tmpin1 depending on motherboard

Afaik temps below 40*C aren't too accurate unless you measure them with a diode inside the CPU (would be nice if someone could point to the source of this info, couldn't find it myself). Internal sensors aren't designed to accurately measure the lower temps but rather to prevent CPUs from damaging from high temperatures.

Thread is for the lolz anyway, 30*C idle here with power savings turned off :)

how did you clean that out, did you just tap it? and why is the dust BLACK?
It all just kinda fell off in one lump, aye. The PC sits right next to a massive chipmunk cage, doesn't have fan filters and it set up for negative pressure anyway. Recipe for a mess :o

TJ max for q6600 should be 100'c but its recommended that you should not let is go above 70'c at any time

put mine to 3.6 ghz last night 1.5 volts and went over 90c and it's fine
does this look okay for a tuniq tower ? or do you think I put too much mx3 in the horizontal line ?
