postage question

i need to post a dvd in its case to a mate now can i just stick a stamp on it or would it be to heavy or too big size wise?thanks

A first class stamp can handle up to 60g I think. See here.

Should be fine. The first class/second class post I think it sovered up to 1/2kg, and I can't see a DVD being >2kg

No idea how many stamps you'd put on it. Too used to the french system where I'd just walk in, put it on the machine, pay the machine, and off the thing goes

Just pack it and put it on your kitchen scales
<100g = 49p ist class
<150g =68p ist class
<200g =84p ist class

think it will be 49p or 68p(i know i charge £1 on ebay) if you wait and post from the post office get a proof of postage for the free insurance

I posted a card/cd in a big jiffy bag to my dad for Father's Day and it cost 88p (or something like that), not sure you'd get away with a single stamp if you're going to jiffy it too..
