Hi,

I finally found a Nintendo Wii online, and ordered it pretty quick! However, in my haste, forgot to change the delivery address..

See, I'm at uni, and my card is registered back home. So the billing address is my place back home where currently, no-one lives.

So parcelforce tried to deliver today, obviously failed, and it's held at a local post office. Parcelforce won't re-deliver to a new address because they no longer are holding the parcel, and royal mail won't do it because of "security".

No-one is there to get it for me, and I would need to sign the slip, anyway, which is through the locked door back home.

After 3 weeks, the post office will return the item, to an online store. I can't get home until 11th Feb.

What do I do?!

And what will the online store do with it when it gets returned to them?

Have you tried contacting the Online Store? they may be able to change the address.

Yep, Royal Mail.

They have it held at a post office.

The online store can't do anything now... :(

I think they may be wrong and telling you porkies. We do this all the time for customers at work. However, they may be able to get out of it by claiming "security" of the product, and therefore only wanting to deliver it to a known address.

Hope you get it sorted anyway. :)

whats this 'security' thing royal mail are talking about?

if you have the tracking number and they can find the parcel in the depot, then they should be able to redeliver to another address in the area, so if you know someone in the area, just get it delivered to their address, thats what i did last week anyway...

You don't need the slip to get it, all you need is ID, if it matches the name on the parcel and if you have some odd bank statement ID you will be fine.

You can either take a trip home and get it, or wait after 3 weeks, it will get returned and you will get your money back.

BTW, why is your card still registered at that address when no one lives there?

They won't redeliver, as the parcel is now in the care of Royal Mail, not parcelforce.

People still live there - I still live there - but no-one is there until I get back in Feb. I can't take a trip home to get it, as there would be no way to get from the train station to the depot - or to my house where my car is. I was relying on getting a lift from someone when I get home.

I'll ring the online store tommorow and see what they say.
