Postman just dropped of a pressie

It's that awesome that it can bend the laws of physics

;)

The box is from the Hondata unit itself (the piggyback board), I ordered one preinstalled into an appropriate 'donor' ECU. They sent the original box (which also contains the software and a USB lead) along with the pre-modded ECU.

Just fitted this. I've loaded a stock ITR base map onto the ECU, and tweaked the idle a bit and it's running sweet

Just need to book it in for tuning/mapping now :D

/edit, just booked it in, earliest they can do it is beginning of March :(

How many bits of paper with various royals heads on them did that cost?

Should be an utter beast once you get it mapped. Waiting till march is no biggy, this time of year that would be 240bhp of wheel spin anyway.

looks like a piggy-back board in their

Its an emulator for the ROM chip that stores the engine maps. Honda OBD1 ECU's have a 28pin section of the board ready to take an external ROM with a new engine map on.

You can stick a chip in, use an emulator or now this setup where it remains in the ECU and allows live changes so you can map the car properly. Also has memory to datalog which can then be read back later and much neater than some setups (like mine) as you have just one USB lead.

Good bits of kit with the dual maps for high and low cam, both ignition and fuel. The way VTEC should be setup as regardless where you have the VTEC the engine will be running the correct Airfuel ratio.

Sounds like a very good bit of kit that. Where you going to get it mapped?

And with mine I am trying to do the same with getting the correct air/fuel ratio and timings, but instead mine will involve some oil and 2 rods of metal. :p

370 notes delivered, from a US ebay shop. That included an OBD harness adapter too. Well worth it IMO, because you would pay 300+ in the UK for the Hondata unit itself, then you need to source an ECU and harness adapter (if you are on OBD2) and get someone to install the Hondata board if you aren't handy with a soldering iron.

Indeed, and has some interesting features like launch control, full-throttle gearchanges, options for boost control, nitruous control etc. etc.
