My postman has developed the rather annoying habit of putting packages I receive in my wheelie bin.

Not too much of an issue perhaps. But often people walking past my house dump their unwrapped food waste in there.

Also, I'm getting some 'signed for' items in the bin with the tags still attached, which clearly haven't been signed for.

Today, he didn't even bother to ring the bell. Just put a note through the door saying parcel in bin. I watched him do it!

I'm reluctant to complain as he does seem a reasonable bloke the few times I've spoken to him. Just a lazy ****.

Anyone else have these or similar problems? Maybe it's 'cos I don't tip him at Xmas? :o

Our postman can't even be bothered at times to deliver our packages.

He leaves them in the nearest pickup office, then drops a preprepared "we tried to deliver but you were out..." card through our letter box and makes no attempt at knocking on our door. I have seen him do this.

I then go to pick it up and find out there's e.g. no charge or anything. The lazy **** can't be bothered to carry it in his bag!

I can ensure you he thinks he's doing you a favour, rather than being lazy. Try and collar him and come up with an alternative place together.

Being lazy is postman not ringing my buzzer, and not leaving me a card. How the **** do I know I've had an attempted delivery??!?!
 
I'd rather he left the parcel than take them many miles to a distant land far away, which is a farse when you can't drive...
 
Did I mention I caught him urinating in a bottle in his van? Whether it was coincidental or not a few days later I had a letter arrive in a clear plastic bag with an apology from RM stating the item had been damaged. It was yellow and stank.....
 
Next time you get the chance, ask him politely not to put them in the bin. And arrange a better drop off point in the situation that you aren't in, in the back garden or something. Also ask him to at least attempt to deliver the parcel first.

Well what happens when the fool does it on bin day like they did for a mate of mine.. £200 worth of luxury coffee gone. Mate of mine went skits and i think he cost the bloke his job. served him right. I dislike my postman too
 
what if he puts it in the bin the same day rubbish gets collected?

He's being lazy, if he was being helpful he'd leave it with a nieghbour
 
To be honest, I wouldn't trust most of my neighbours. Dodgy area.

Surprising the stuff he's put in the bin hasn't been nicked by one of them!

The garden has no rear access.

So unless I put a lock on the bin, not sure what else I can do.

Complain to the post office until it's delivered properly. if he gets sacked then he should have done it properly in the first place
 
I’d never dream of leaving any items in a customer’s bit, I mean what happens when it bin day? Just have a word with him as he probably thinks it’s okay as you haven’t said anything just say thanks but could you leave it in a secure place if you haven’t got one then tough it’s his/our job to take the packages back to the bag drops to be collected.

Bit of communication doesn’t do any harm does it? You need to say something I wouldnt complain yet, have a word with the postie first.
 
A complaint may make matters worse. No disrespect to postmen (women). I'm sure the majority are very good at their jobs. I just seem to have one of the 'less than enthusiastic' ones.

It's strange, where I work they seem to promote the useless ***** :)
 
So what happens when you order something expensive, he drops it in the bin and it isn't there when you go to check? Seriously I'd complain and get the cretin the sack!
