Potential new build, thoughts and help

Hi I have decided to build a brand new PC as mine is pretty old now so I really need a complete overhaul. I already have windows 7 OS so won't be needing that and I also have a keyboard, monitor, mouse and speakers. Here is my proposed build which I will be playing games such as Guild Wars 2, Shogun Total War 2, Skyrim etc on:

1x Intel Core i5 3570K 3.4GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache Retail - £177,
1x EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2GB GPU - £204

Just need views on the build, whether those components are the best for their price range or whether I could save some money on any of them without sacrificing too much performance, This would be the top end of my budget so I would not be able to go very far above it.

Nice spec but .......

Whats your max budget ? is your copy of Windows 7 OEM or Retail ? do you have any HDD or Optical drive which are sata that you can reuse? If you do this would reduce your costs and allow you upgrade the graphic card a bit more.

If not here is a spec which would give you sightly more bang for you buck.

That Gigabyte board as a 3 year UK warrenty, the 6950 is sightly better then the 560 Ti here's a link to some benchmarks http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/293?vs=330. and the 800w PSU you speced is massive overkill for a system like that.

Thanks for such a quick reply, as for reusable drives I could probably salvage the Optical drive off my old PC, as for the HDD it will definitely need replacing. The build you have proposed looks good but not sure the storage on the SSD would be enough? I have a lot of music etc. Budget wise I could probably stretch to about £750 but that would be the top end, however I would be comfortable spending that much. Also the PSU i suggested was 600w not 800w?

small SSD which will give you a little faster performance, but not the quickest, will still help if using it as just a boot drive.

and sorry i misread it as 800w?? don't know why.

Yeah the Optical drive is definitely sata, thanks very much for the suggestions. Will having the SSD speed it up much then? I guess I'd just put the OS and maybe my most played game on it then use the HDD for everything else?

yes, although you may be struggling with putting games on if its only 60GB..

Yes or you could use Intel Smart Response Technology
to use the SSD as a cache for the HDD of your most used files for an performance increase over just an HDD by its self, using Intel Smart Response Technology you will need to install everything on to the HDD.
