Potential upgrade time. Few pointers

I actually am struggling to understand EsaT sorry. Are you saying that another component could be causing the issue.
Thanks for input.
@EsaT was implying there's always an outside chance of it being something other than the card - but the odds are it's the card (with the data and testing available from your post).

EDIT: If you wanted to take your testing further you could breadboard the system with a skeleton setup and rule out other causes of indirect shorting altogether. i.e. build outside of the case with just PSU CPU and GPU connected.

I, personally, would update to version 3504 as within the description:

4. Improved VGA cards and storage device compatibility.

And all other updates before this list system stability as primary reason for update.

You could still try the new card without the update - but EZ Flash is easy to use if you follow intsructions/forum advice.

My post limit is up so can't post regarding digging further into componens.
NP - i'll look out for your posts tomorrow. I think most of your pressing questions have been answered(?) - and the breadboard suggestion was only if you wanted to dot the i's and cross the t's.

Fault in motherboard could cause issue with separate graphics card.
But that should be limited to single slot and symptoms are 100% fit to shorted card.

Bought the gpu and am now ready to update bios. Got a youtube tutorial on standby and will go for it tomorrow.

Thanks for help Plec and EsaT.

Fingers crossed, all goes OK.
