Has anyone noticed the amount of potholes there are recently because of the cold weather, nothing worse than trying to avoid the massive ones but you can't, cause there is on coming traffic:mad:

Some of them are absolutely huge near me, you can't even avoid some due to the roads being like a mine field. What sort of damage can a pot hole do?

They can damage tyres, rims, springs, shocks (although they would have to have been on the way out), any sort of mounts or bushes.

You name it, if it's attatched to the steering or is mounted it could be broke/damaged from the shock of the pothole.

It can damage your alloy wheel, and once the wheel is damage it can make more damage to your car especially if it's buckelled.

Lots. Broken wheels and punchers are most common. However if you hit a bad one it can totally bugger up the suspension and do bodywork damage.

Drove down the A34 yesterday, saw something fly over the central reservation and then a loud bang as it hit the windscreen. Gone right through the outer laminate layer, with 3 inch cracks coming off in all directions.

Then spent an unreasonable amount of time on the phone to the insurance company, and then autowindscreens. What a surprise, the pot holes are breaking lots of people's screens and they are extra busy and *might* be able to fit me in in about a weeks time. Out with the bicycle then :(
