Power adaptors blowing - Leckies please help!

iirc the code of practice for inspection and testing of electrical equipment states that multiway sockets should not be daisy chained.

tbh i have daisy chained 4 way adaptors with no problems but i think doing it with an 8 and a 6 is pushing it. and yes i know technically it is possible to get away with it by working out the load however i real life who does? it is possible that switching all that on in one go has popped the surge protection (does the unit have a surge light and is it on?). there is potential to overload and/or melt things running that through one 3 core cable.

Yup, the surge light is on. I don't switch everything on at once.

The surge protector is the same as the ones we have at work so it should be competent.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that needs to daisy chain this way. I wonder what everyone else does.

Well I've only got base unit (300W psu), TFT monitor (45W), and an amplifier pluged in to my extension. The modem/router's downstairs next to the phone, on it's own wall socket.
