Power Calibration Error

Hey,
Just come accross this error a second time now on someone elses pc. When trying to burn a cd or dvd using any tool I either get a standard error or a tool like IMGburn or Ultimate cd/dvd burner comes up with an error of "Power Calibration Error".

I get this error on my own machine and no idea how to solve it.

Any ideas?

Tends to mean the writer is buggered. Try cleaning the head first, or using different media, but otherwise it normally means the laser diode is past its sell by date.

May be rubbish discs ?

Try updating the firmware and as suggested try different media - if your still having issues then its replacement time.
