Hi,

Ive just added a Gigabyte 965P S3 motherboard to my system (among other bits), but ive come across a rather unwelcome snag.

Everything is in place apart from the main 20/24pin power connection. The motherboard has a 24pin slot, and my psu (antec truepower 430w) only has 20pins. Is there an easy round this, or do i need a new psu now too.

Im guessing it wouldnt work using just the 4pin connector elsewhere on the mobo. Or would it?.

My new graphics card wont use much power, its only a small one for now, so whats my cheapest way round this?

thanks

My motherboard is similar I think. I also have the same PSU as you.

You need to plug the 20pin cable from the PSU into the 24pin socket on your motherboard. Then the extra 4pin cable into the 4pin socket near the CPU.

That is how mine works, I don't know if it's the same for you (I have a different motherboard).

You just need a 20 to 24 pin adaptor (ATX 20 Pin Female to 24 Pin Male) - provided you have the other necceary board power connectors (i cba to d/l the manual to have a look).
