I have just noticed that my Power Fan is not working. I had some problems with the computer about two weeks ago and had to take it to pieces but everything is plugged back in.

If I reset the bios would that alter the flow of the fan?

I am sure that I had an option before for changing the speed of the fan but cant think where.

Any suggestions?

Or has my power supply died on me?

Thanks in advance

Very unlikely your BIOS would be able to influence the RPM of the fan in a power supply, monitor the RPM perhaps but they are actually controlled by the electronics inside the PSU itself.

So what does that mean, its dead? I turned it on this morning and there does seem to be some air coming out but not much.

Thing is I have asus probe which monitors things like that and it says that it has no rpm.

Anywhere else I can monitor it to see if it works?

Does your PSU have a 3 pin fan monitor cable connected to your motherboard? If it doesn't then your board/asus probe can't monitor it anyway. Are you sure it isn't just cos the heatwave has backed off and the fan is thermally controlled (so on a lower setting)?

These thermally controlled psus are a nightmare in our workplace. They dont turn on due to nice air con office so they just accumalate dust until they literally go bang. Had 2 do it in the last couple weeks.
