any one no if theres any software available to monitor how much power from my psu is being used. the reason being im thinking risking running my 4850 off my 380w psu for a couple of days till i get a new psu. I only run a HDD and the mobo +2 case fans off it so im thinking there may be enough wattage spare for a 4850.

I haven't heard of any software tools to do so and I'm not sure how it would work even if one did exist. You do get online PSU calculators but they tend to overestimate the requirements I find.

You could buy a hardware wattage meter but that isn't likely to arrive any faster than the PSU anyway so the only way to tell if it will work is to try it really.

yea is there any signs i can look for to see if the card is underpowered? and thererfore i can take it out to prevent any damage

Most likely would be system instability but I suppose you might get some graphical glitches as well. You could always remove the overclock on the CPU for the moment to lower the load.
