Hey guys,

I have a Gigabyte Z77-UD5H with issues.

I try to power it on and the power light flickers I have to switch it off at the wall back on and then repeat untill it suddently jumps back into life and works... If I leave the power on at the switch it power cycles without any issues.

I have tried a different power supply, taken out the GPU, and my BIOS is up to date..

The onboard power switch is orange but I take it that is the only colour it goes....

Please help.

Could this be a power supply issue?

If you are running a GFX card then maybe remove it and use the CPU's built-in IGP?

Maybe try flicking the dualBIOS switch (while the PC is off) along the bottom edge?

P.S The power button on the board is only orange.

Ello Stelly!

Do you hear any beeping sounds at all?

Take the Ram out and then try and boot it, Does it made any sounds?

Or it could be the PSU

Yer tried it with dual BIOS without the GPU still nothing....

I also have tried a different PSU and got the same issue with no booting exactly the same issue...

he already tried a different psu.
overclocked or at stock ?

i would try the latest bios if that fails then RMA the board.

Its at stock at the moment to ensure its stable.

Latest BIOS put on before latest reboot with same issue.

When i was editing it. Stelly had not put that he had changed his PSU!

Hello Stelly!!

Not sure tbh what else you could do. You could try a new motherboard!

i can't see anything else you can do.
i would RMA the board bud.

Argh! I was more about 99% sure that was the issue, just thought I would confirm it... right pain in the bum as all cable management and everything is done... was booting fine outside the box... god damn Gigabyte motherboards! Asus I have never had a problem with!!!! rant rant rant rage rage rage

:D

Cold boot issue is usually the board boots up, shuts down then restarts and runs normally.

What PSU are you running?

I have tried and spankers XFX 650w and a Corsair HX1000w

It seem like the BOTH psus trip out to stop blowing something and I have to switch off at the wall to get them to reset.

The weird thing about it after doing it a few times it will randomly turn on??

Almost sounds like a short being detected by PSU, I know you tidied the cables ect it might worth running the system external to the case.

Random idea (well not that random as I think I seen it mentioned at Xtremesystems)

Flash both BIOSes the same and the same settings on both.

You might have something...

If I use the corsair its own 24 and 8 pin power it works okay.

If I try the XFX with its own 24 and 8 pin power it doesn't

If I try the corsair with my the 8 pin from the XFX and its own 24 pin it doesnt work...

If I try a new 8 pin for the XFX and its 24 pin it doesnt work...

What do you think?
