I'm looking a "power plug" type device, that would boost my WiFi, include an ethernet port and also have AC pass through, but I can't seem to find one that includes all the above.
I plan to connect one of the plugs to a "Boxee Box" via ethernet to connect to the internet, plus boost the WiFi signal in that room, so I could connect a Laptop if needed (I can receive WiFi in that room, but I'd like to give it a boost).
I can't use WiFi for the Boxee Box, because I have to unhide my SSID and remove MAC filtering.
Additionally, to any starter pack that I'd buy, I might get a third plug, to use upstairs with other WiFi devices. Again the plug would be to just boost the signal.
I'm I correct in thinking the "Mbps" rating doesn't really matter if I'm not streaming HD content around the network ?
The only thing that I'd be downloading would be data on iPlayer on the Boxee Box and that would be effected by my DL speed and not transfer speeds.
Thank you.
