Hi,

About 3 months ago I ordered a whole computer system from oc uk (specs are in d signature). Lately my rig is going nuts...It started like 3 weeks ago when I went to switch on the rig and nothing happened, like I didnt switch it on. After trying somemore, I left it cuz I went to watch a football game (45min)..Came back, tried to switch and it switched on...I didnt bother that much cuz it was the first time. Some days later the problem reoccured. The rig didnt want to switch on:/ Today again the problem occured..I have tried some trial and error tests like removing one RAM , testing powercables....But with no results..After some time I tried again and it switched on:/ I have no idea what It might be.

Any ideas?

Regards, Iain

Loose connection somewhere? Switch on the front broken? There's a big power spike as you flip the power on. I doubt you're overloading the PSU, but it's overload circuits may be dodgy and oversensitive? If you turn it off at the mains and switch it back on, does it make any difference?

Unplug everything from the mobo except the CPU and CPU fan (and check the front panel connectors). Plug back in the PSU and power up. I think this should be enough for something to happen when you hit on. If it reliably starts (and beeps like a mofo), then start adding bits until stops working. If it's still playing up, at least you know the rest of the components are probably OK.

Thanks 4 ** reply,
No I dont have any loose connections since I checked them all. I also tested the switch button of the case by changing the switch button with the reset switch, but no results. The PSU isnt overloaded because I even tried running the rig without gfx card  I think its useless for now contacting ocuk If i dont know where the trouble is..

Hi there, 10x 4 ** replies,

I have tested another power supply (an old one I had), connected its 24 pin connector and the pc switched on normally. When I changed the PSU to my hiper 580W by connecting the 24 pin only, the pc didnt switch on. So I concluded that the problem is from the HIPER PSU.

Now the problem is two things:

1. I dont thing they can change a product like PSU because it has to do with electricity.

2. When I brought my powersupply and switched on my rig for the first time, I noticed that the 12cm fan wasnt rotating. Later I noticed that the fan was stuck with the fan grill. I tried to arrange it but it was in vain. Since I live in malta, its a hassel for me to send my PSU to Uk for only a 12cm fan. I opened the top cover, managed to arrange it properly as its supposed to be, and closed the top cover. When I tried to switch it on it worked smoothly.

But now since I have the power up issue problem since this PSU is faulty, I think they wont change it because i have opened the top cover because of that fan problem

Ideas?

If you didn't post that then they would never have known that you opened it, and you would easily be able to send it back if it's brand new ;) :p

waits for stealthy editing...

Ahh right. Well I guess you have to fork out for a new power supply if you're confident that's the problem :(
