Been away from my pc for about a week now. And decided to do some gaming, so went to turn my pc on.

On button not working, also noticed no lights on the mobo.

So went round the back to check the switch on my hiper type-r psu, which was on (and the small red light was on). Turned it off and on again, and nothing. Took the power cable out and put it back in again, nothing. Touched the PSU and the caseing of the PSU was quite hot.

So pulled the power and its been off ever since.

Im guessing from all this the PSU is buggered. Looking to order a new one, and reccomendations?

And whats the chance that the PSU took other componants out with it?

Similar thing happened to me: put in a new HDD & reconnected, light on mobo but PC wouldn't boot. Antec 550w PSU had died.

Replaced it with Seasonic S12+ due to efficiency rating. Otherwise I have Enermax Liberty 620w which has run 24/7 for best part of a year.
The Corsair ones have got good reviews.

And whats the chance that the PSU took other componants out with it?
It didn't go while it was on so unlikely but down to whether you were using a "quality" make. I guess you won't know until the new one is connected. Good luck

Hope this helps.
