Power Problems !!

650W is pushing it for future upgrades, I'd get a 750W Gold/Platinum Super Flower Leadex/EVGA G2/P2 and call it a day. The EVGA comes with a 10 year warranty on their PSUs and they are top quality.

A 500W PSU will be enough to test without your graphics card in, but I believe on startup your PC powers everything up to max to see if it can handle it, if not, it shuts down? So it may struggle with the GPU.

That could be entirely wrong, but I recall hearing it a long, long time ago.

With the gpu out and still getting the problem I have disconnected my nzxt sentry mix 2. i have restarted over 10 times and no sign of this problem. Hopefully its solved. Do you guys think this could have been the problem ?

Over Current Protection ^^^ usually happens when the PSU is on its last legs, the voltage rail ripple and drop too much and it compensates by adding more AMPs, too much of that it trips.

PSU tripping out, happens more often with the GPU as it requires more power.

What you think CEUOTC?

Sorry was doing manly housework! lol.

Aye that sounds about right, with the fact the OP has now removed the Fan Controller it could point to a "bad" earth within the fan controller bringing the whole system down (at a guess) i.e. dry joint or some other lecky problem.

Box swapping is more of my forte :)

It may also be worth checking the Mobo debugging display during boot to see if it throws up any hints.

And as the Sentry Mix 2 has a spaghetti like cable fascination l would check to ensure none of the fan leads have snagged any earth points/solder or are being crushed by the case or case panels as this would also lead to a short causing the system to shut down.

Had something similar after tidying up inside my case :) with the MIX 2.

What motherboard? I had the same problem, my old Asus CHIII was the cause, and couldn't work out how to fix it. Eventually replaced it and the problem was gone.

EDIT: Derp didn't see second page :p.
