Hi guys,i have a question,my motherboard is a gigabite ex58-udr3,i have an i7 920,6 gig of ram and a hd 6950(2gig),i have juce noticed that my poversupply has only a 4pin molex and i need a 8pin molex for my cpu(ATX_12V_2X)i was just wondering if i buy an adaptor from 4 pin to 8 pin molex will this be ok or will i need a new PSU?thanks

Replace it before it blows up. Terrible psu's. Have a look here.

They cannot deliver 580w and can only supply a pathetic (for a supposedly 580w psu) 360w on the 12v rail. If a rig is going to stress it to the max yours will.

Definately get that PSU replaced, I was also unaware of the potential problem with those PSU's until mine blew up last month and took most of the machine with it....
 
Don't use two molex plugs to connect to an 8 pin atx socket. That's got bad idea written all over it.

There's a hyper-active thread too, they don't all die. Hiper are however out of business.
