hi all i have my i7 clocked at 4ghz but its setup to run at 4ghz 24/7!
What CPU settings in the bios do i need to enable to save power/electric?,and i assuming when needed the CPU will revert to 4ghz ?

I have enabled all the CPU settings in the bios but CPUZ says its running at a full 4ghz and all times,and i cant seem to find speedstep im guessing its called something different for i7.

Can someone please tell me what i need to enable to save power
 
Hi ,

Yep its the speedstep your after. Do not quote me on this but its something like ESIT or something like that on my DFI bios.

I also have the i7 920 @ 4.2ghz , but after testing it was fully stable found no need for the full force 24/7. So enabled my speedstep. It clocks from 2.4ghz minimum at any random clock upto 4ghz. Works well.
