Hi there,
I have a Seasonic 600W PSU. Tihis was a "premium" PSU that cost me £100 last year so I'd like to utilise it in my new rig (8800GTS/Q6600/2xHD). The 12V rails say 18A each and the 5v and 3.5V say 30A each. Since this is a good PSU, so I read, I assume that these are true figures that are sustainable (not like junk PSU's that quote the peak)

The PSU has 2 x 6 way connectors that are unued on my 660GT. I read that these are PCI_E connectors. So these connect to the 8800GTS yes?

There is also a 8 way connector, just one of them. Where does this go on my new rig? It is not used at all at the minute (on my 478 P4 systems).

Wil the existing 4way square conector (currently used) get used on a new GA-P35-DS4 motherboard?

Thanks for any help.
Steve

Seasonic's are extremely good power supplies, so I wouldn't worry there.

Yes, they would go into the 8800 GTS although I think this card only has 1x 6 pin PCI-E connector and not 2.

The 4 pin and 8 pin are near enough the same thing. The 4 pin is for use in older style motherboards for additional power to the CPU socket area. The 8 pin is near enough the same however newer motherboards have 8 pin power connector at the CPU socket instead of 4. So you wouldn't plug the 4 pin in, and only the 8 pin on the P35-DS4.

You'll notice on the pic that it has a 4 pin connector next to the CPU socket, but it's actually and 8 pin connector but has a cap over the other 4 pins.
