a few days ago my PC was fine i went to bed the next day i got up and it just started making weird noises coming from the psu

its like a rattling noise and it makes the whole case vibrate a lot

i removed the grate and wiggled the fan around a bit incase it was hitting on somthing put it back together but its still making a lot

the fan itself seemed a bit stiff but that wouldnt cause it to rattle and stuff would it?

any help is accepted can u replace the fans on psu?

its an OZC 750 watt not sure if it has any warrenty ( didnt remove the screw that has the sticker on it)

The only moving part in a PSU is the fan so it will be that. I suggest removing the PSU, then powering the unit up outside of the case to see if it is in fact the PSU. If it is, RMA it if it's still in warranty, if not, replace the fan (this will void your warranty).

Which model is your PSU? Some units have problems with fans hitting on fan grills.

not sure what type will hav to go box searching

i took it out the case and botted the pc it didnt see as loud

i did take the grill off to see if it was that didnt seem and its a bit down from the grill aswell

it seem to get worse the longer the pc is on

i orderd it on april 09 and a lot of the OCZ PSU hav 3 year warrenty

Sounds like a worn fan bearing that is sending a vibration through the PSU and into the case. The fact that it gets louder as time passes helps to confirm this as PSU fans will gradually increase in speed for quite a while until they reach thermal equilibrium.

So the choices would be:

1) RMA if the PSU is still under warranty.
2) Buy a new PSU.
3) Replace the PSU fan. My guide to do this is here
