Hey everyone i've just purchased my Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 motherboard and i've realised i only have an ATX 1.3 power supply with the 20 pin ATX connector and the board takes a 24 pin ATX connector, if i purchase a 20 - 24 pin convertor will it work ok the power supply in question is Enermax Noisetaker 420W

Cheers

I had this exact same problem - looked up the pin layouts and found out I could just "cut" the additional 4 pins away from the other 20, plugged the resulting 20-pin in the mobo and it worked fine for me.

It has the extra 4 pin connector yes to claify what the manual states there is a 8 pin power connector (ATX_12V_2X) on the motherboard the way i've understood the manual is too plug the 4 pin power connector in to pins 3,4,7,8

So the 24 pin converter isnt needed
