Power Supply - The Battle of OCZ and Antec

In the Red Corner, the OCZ ModXStream 500W Modular PSU.

In the Blue Corner, the Antec Basiq Plus 550W Modular PSU.


The only differences I've found is the Antec has a +2 on one of the PCIe 6pins, and has an extra 12V Rail, resulting in greater Amperage. And is "OEM Grey".

They're both £52.99. The Antec seems the better choice. But the OCZ has a big red sticker on it.

Thank you, everyone else, for your input, too. I think I'll make this a poll style thing and tally it up. I can't find a review for that Antec, you see, but it's specs seem to be good.

I've read bad things about the reliability of the ModXStream range, was going to get one myself but steered away from them after reading several bad reviews.

I've heard bad things about the OCZ ones but I've never had either. I'm on my 2nd corsair 650tx, the first was DOA and this one squeals like a stuck pig when the graphics card is loaded, so I can't recommend this any higher.
