Hey,

Would a

Corsair TX 650W ATX2.2 SLi Compliant PSU

work on any type of motherbroad, or is there set patterns to adhear to, for example when looking at CPU's and motherbroads.

cheers

Will work on anything other than rare proprietary boards as mentioned, and you might have some trouble on very old hardware.

most psu's come with either a 20pin or 20+4pin for MB's, so most probably yeah
unless like above its really old

most high end-ish boards will have an 8 pin connector, the tx650 comes with an 8pin which separates into 2x 4pins so you can use it on mobos with a 4pin connector as well.

well at the mo is not a specific broad, jsut woudering to weather theres a PSU standard

ahh right.!

well most motherboards take a 24/20pin power connector and a 4/8 pin cpu power connector.

almost all new power supplies (ATX) give toy a 20 pin with an add-on 4pin and 4pin with add-on 4pin

so they support all types.

dell and other big name brands sometimes like to make there own keyed power connectors so you can only buy from them, best to just make sure before you buy i guess :p

dont think there are many systems that us AT style power supplies or motherboards now, :)
