Last night a usb cable got pulled out of a usb port by accident and broke the usb port causing a USB power surge.

When trying to shut down the computer last night the computer was automatically restarting itself so I switched it off by the switch at the back.

Then trying to use the computer today the computer wont turn on.
No power, no lights, no fans.

Any ideas or is the only answer the power supply has failed.

Thanks

have a spare psu to try? or paperclip test?

can leave out the mb battery for 30mins but id think atleast the mb lights would light up if it was a corrupted cmos, worth a try though

no point if it works in another machine

can try leaving the cmos battery out for 30minutes

its probably mb problem

paperclip test (google it)shorts the psu pins and if fans spin then its working ect

yup just contact the supplier if it's us you can raise a support post in the customer service section at the top. If it's not us then contact them as per the contact details on their website.

you can also ring 0871 200 5053 in office hours or a send a webnote via the contact us page Although I find the forum much easier to use than either of those options.

Hi, yeah I bought the motherboard from here, in September.

Do I just create a post in the customer service section of the forums just stating the issue, what can Overclockers do about the issue anyway?

Thanks

Thought I'd update this post too in case anyone has a similar problem.

I left the CMOS battery out over night, and set it all back up the next morning. The motherboard and everything then worked fine. I guess the BIOS settings needed resetting after the power surge.

Hope this helps others.
