Powerball

I've used mine 3 for a total of 3 15 min*ish (probably) goes since i brought it :P

day one was the first day i ever used it :)

day date Speed on each
1 27/03/2007 8595
2 29/03/2007 left10858 right 10854
3 12/04/2007 Left 11732 Right 10796

^ today when i saw this thread :p

i suppose I'm doing quite well compared to some people, going to the gym has probably had some influence on my scores...

i stopped using it on the 29th until my gym membership ran out, in case it interfered with weight training

Wooh, more powerballers?

I thought it was relatively unknown in the UK but it seems others are actually out there :) .

I've had a powerball for over a year now, dont use it very often, but all i can say is practice practice and practice some more for them high scores.

When i first got it, about 2 weeks in i managed "13,???" but recently after getting it out again i can only manage about 12900 max.

Shoseki casts resurrection (rank 4) on this thread!

I got a Powerball this weekend and they are awesome, can only get up to about 10k atm (broke the 10k mark at lunchtime), what was the highest anyone can remember ever getting?

And does this thing get you big arm muscles? My arms are killing me !

Well I got one of these today and I read all the stuff about precision engineering and how finely tuned it is but mine clunks, the inner ball has about 1.5-2mm horizontal movement and the little plastic bits came off the string so I can't start it. I actually have chronic rsi in my right wrist (data input 14500kdph! before it kicked in) and tennis elbow as a bonus so was rather hoping this thing might help with light use.

So I'm assuming the clunking is wrong and I need to return it. Can anyone confirm if the inner ball is supposed to clunk up and down? It's the signature version. :(

Well, I tended to find that whenever I lent it to anyone, they made it clunk and couldn't speed it up properly, when I use it I get the timing right and then it doesn't make it make weird noises.

Can you get it up to speed? Is your technique ok?

Mine clunked from day 1, its fine. It only clunks when its stationary and you're shaking it, or when you're spinning it, but doing it like a tard.

Well I'd guess the majority of people start of using it "like a tard".

It doesn't clunk at speed (only managed 5400 so far but using my bad arm as it's nigh on impossible to start with a finger flick in the other hand (because of the bad arm of course)).

More frustrating is the pathetic bits of string, first bloody pull (and it does tell you to give it a good sharp pull) and the plastic bit flew off the end of the string, about 10 attempts later and both ends of the string were bare. The other one didn't last much longer so I'm stuck trying to find some way of capping the string so it'll stay in the hole when winding :(

Eventually you'll be able to start it up with your hand. Took me a while but I can start it in one go now. I wish I bought the more expensive one, I didnt realise the cheapest one on OCUK came without an LCD thing. Annoying tbh. :(

I'm getting closer and closer to being able to start it but it's a pain having not had the string long enough to be able to practice keeping it going so I'm on a very steep learning curve and if it don't start soon I'll end up with rsi in the other arm

Ah i still remember the days when Powerballs first arrived to OcUK like it was yesterday :) That guy must have made a killing off of this place!

For anybody having trouble with grip, i found my golf glove helped loads.

WOO NEW PB :D

After seeing this thread I tried again.

Quite happy with that considering my age and that all I do is spend all my time on the PC so my wrists can't be that strong.

I'm giving up for the evening, without the string I can't quite get it going fast enough long enough to perfect the technique and if not for the wrist strap it would already have been thrown violently through my monitor in frustration.
