Look at the full review which has plenty of real aa benches with the 7870's doing well. I would say its far to early to say gnc cores dont handle aa well.

Looking at the benchmarks again. The card is factory overclocked by 10%. Which as usual is a pretty weak overclock. I would imagine it will go on a fair bit more than that.
Yes, but remember that when a supplier provides a card with a factory overclock they have to offer something that will run reliably and last at least the warranty period without any control over the environment the card will be running in, so they're naturally cautious.
But I agree, it does indicate that with a decent airflow case and power supply you can expect it to clock well.
