Powercut :(

Supposedly was a sizeable power outage not far from me. Haven't been affected here (yet), although who knows with this wind.

Power was going on and off most of friday night/saturday morning. Engineers are currently re-routing us through another part of their network until they can repair the damaged lines, which probably won't be until the flooding goes down as all of the roads to the village are currently blocked.

SP Energy Networks seem to be very reliable at getting problems sorted, i get texts within minutes of the power going out providing an ETA.

All good here although most houses around mine had a power cut earlier today, somehow I seemed to stay up and running!

Weirdly though, this morning, I noticed the clock had reset on the microwave, but not the oven. Checked my server and it hadn't rebooted. Spoke to my dad later on and he said the power was off for about a second, so not enough to power down a server but enough to reset a clock on a microwave ffs lol.

Thats because you're in a village, anyone watch those TV programmes recently about SCE? Power lines are overhead they go through woods, trees come down, you get the picture. Its also likely to be a a single feed most power in towns etc is on a ring so if if one part of the ring is broken power can still feed in from the other direction.

The last time I had a power cut was in a farm out in the styx tree came down took 2 days for them to get the power lines back up.
