I am looking to get hold of a fairly cheap (not more than £150 unless it's great) but powerful Android based MP3 player (not phone). It will be used for music listening and apps/games and will need to be small enough to fit in a pocket (nothing bigger than 5").

I don't know much about the Chinese imports that are available but would have nothing against them if they are up to the job.

Anyone have any thoughts?

choose 1 out of 2.. you cant have both!

either power full and expensive

or cheap and midrange performance.

or go apple and get the latest ipod touch which will run all the stuff you need.

You could get 2nd hand S2 and use it as mp3 player(plane mode) plus you'll have spare phone if needed.

Was just about to suggest this.

Though have to ask... why not just get a phone and then only carry 1 device?!

buh buh that would be too obvious? unless he needs a phone that lasts a week and an mp3 player that he can charge once in 2 or so days.. but that makes no sense if you have access to a charger then why not get a proper phone.. eh uh er.:mad::rolleyes:
