I need a quick bit of advice.

I've got to troubleshoot a problem with a rig I'm putting together as it's not working.

The chassis manufacturer has suggested I plug a 'normal' psu into my motherboard and see if it powers it up first of all. Makes sense really. I'm slightly concerned tho at using a fairly high wattage psu (an old Shuttle 250w) on a mini-itx board.. it should be fine tho shouldn't it?

The actual setup of the rig will be powered by a pico 120w psu.

Advice greatly appreciated.

it will be fine :)

I often use a 500watt ATX PSU when I first bench a new ITX or similar board. In fact I prefer to use more wattage than I need initially so I can measure wattage draw at the wall with my kilowatt meter therefore know it will be in the limits of a pico and AC/DC power brick
