powering off

The only 8 pin cable likely to be coming from the psu which isn't a graphics card power cable will be the one designed to fit in the 8 pin socket on the motherboard. I think its very odd that you can't get it to sit in normally, so look forward to the photos.

If you have an adapter in mind which takes two 4 pin molex plugs and connects to the motherboard, don't use it, as it'll be worse than the cable you're using now.

my friend, it is the orientation of the pins in the cpu socket and the power cable for the cpu socket from the psu that dont allow me to connect the full 8pins. as u may know, u get 'square' type pins and 'rounded off' type pins.

Indeed, the connectors are keyed. Of course, traditionally the psu manufacturer puts the right connector on the cable, and the motherboard manufacturer puts the right socket on the board. It's quite possible that one of them dropped the ball, but generally it's the user who's made the mistake. Photos would be good.

will upload photos later tonight or tomorrow but there's no way i can connect the pins the way they are keyed differently on the mobo and the psu, thats for sure 110% photos will help prove my point i hope cheerz mate
