So here's the scenario:
I am due to move in with my fiancée in several weeks time. She has the Virgin Media SH (not sure if 2 or 3, but I think it's 3 as it's the same as mine). The only wired device connected to it is the Amazon fire TV and everything else is wireless: SONOS Play 1's, mobile, tablet, TV and laptop.
I have two PC's, an 8-port switch and an nVidia SHIELD TV. Apart from the Shield TV, everything I have will be in a different room to the SH modem, therefore I am going to need to user Powerline adapters.
Question: can I still use the ports on the modem itself for other devices whilst it's also plugged into a powerline? And can the same be done with the 8-port switch.
So in the room where the computers will be, I will have a powerline adapter plugged into the switch and the computers and other devices will be coming off the switch. In the front room, the SH modem will be plugged into the other powerline and I want to still use the ports from said modem for the Shield TV and maybe other devices.
Thanks for your time in assisting with this.
