******* PPI

Really annoying that they seem to have started spamming my business mobile, first the txt's, then they started calling, i can ignore the txt messages, its the calling that's starting to get on my nerves, as my mobile can ring day/night with the work i do.

Today i was actually on a call, then a 2nd call came through (i was expecting a call) so i hung up the 1st call and picked up the 2nd call, to find it was PPI recorder message, so i stayed on the line, pressed "2" to speak with someone and let them know that they are getting on my nerves and they need to take my business number off their system, lets hope that they take heed and comply.

OFCOM (or the likes) really need to start doing something about this issue.

Ive got TPS + my provider blocks unknown numbers and anyone that calls me from a number that is displayed, I answer and if its spam I just block via the built in android option.

If you long hold the "End Call" button you get the option to blacklist the number.

I get these calls from time to time.

Best one was a glazing company, it was the 3rd call in 3 days, so i arranged them to visit, when asked for my address i read out one for a local UPVC company.

Would have loved to see the shock on the salesman's face when he turned up :D

They won't get the idea that you do not want their services!

My mother was once ripped off into paying £120 to a claims 'company' for PPI, when she wasn't even eligible but they told her anyway that she was. every day they would phone her to bug her. Eventually she gave in and handed the money over. When I caught wind of it I had a 'nice' chat with them. After finding out she wasnt eligible, I went straight to Trading Standards to file a complaint. Three days later the company declared bankruptcy.

I'm sure you can guess what the first word is. I get calls and texts from PPI companies on a bi-daily basis and it's infuriating. I can sort of deal with the calls as I don't answer unknown numbers usually but texts have to be read and the odd call does slip through if I'm expecting a call from someone I don't have saved.

What's the law when it comes to unsolicited calls/texts and what can I do to stop or report them?

Don't worry PPI claims will be dying out soon, their getting replaced by stuff like "gone deaf? if you ever worked somewhere with any noise we can help you sue your former employer for free!" sadly this type of thing is about to explode >.>

Well the "gone deaf" angle will die out very quickly, as the people that have "gone deaf" won't hear the phone ringing :D
