This is probably a strange thread to post here, but I'm pretty sure that there are lots of practical people on these here boards that might be able to help me out.
My Gran is 90 in July and has finally given in and started using a walking stick. She has an old heirloom which rather than being the typical bendy handled walking stick, is more of a T shape at the top. She's been managing quite well with it, but recently, it's started to really hurt her hands and she's developing nasty hard skin where she puts her weight on the stick. I've suggested wrapping a bandage around it and sticking it with medical tape but she says that it looks ridiculous and she's not being seen with something that looks like that
she has her reputation to think about
So any of you got ideas about what to put on a stick to make it less painful to rest on?
