Not trying to make this article in a foul, **** pc gaming mood, but i'm at that point.

Every bleeding day i encounter a new problem with my, rather expensive gaming computer.

Every single game seems to have one problem or the other, now i am encountering my fifth problem with EVERY game in the past 2 months since i owned this thing.

Every single game i own, runs terribly, not performance wise but visual wise.
But only if i turn vsync off.

Doesnt matter if they are on in the ccc that doesnt even work.

I'm saying, if i dont have vsync on, it isnt tearing but the game is glitchy, walking left and right is unsmooth, walking forward is unsmooth et

But i cant HAVE vsync on otherwise i get terribad mouselag.

So i'm at a point where, it is either play a game that runs badly, or play a game with mouse lag.

What in bloodys hell name is there to do now? i've considered getting a new monitor, i got a new keyboard and mouse (whilst fixing some things didnt others) and i am on the verge of insanity with this poxy thing

My rig is an i7 2600 @ 3.4ghz
6GB ram and a 6870 sapphire 1gb card.

If anyone could give me any advice id be very grateful

I dont overclock, never have, but i only noticed it recently when turning vsync off it just performs ****ing terribly going left or right i can see the games got great fps but its chugging along.

Also no, getting a stable system is not enjoyable atall, it is the most ****ing frustrating thing i have ever had to deal with in my life and it just makes me wanna throw my rig out the window.

should have gone nvidia, what, then experience the same **** over.

And im not trolling, the amount of extra money i have spent is just ridiculous.

Yes, lowering the settings doesnt help.

Telling me to buy a better card, go back to CoD and post something more constructive.

I wanted to get Nvidia, but if it wasnt overpriced, i would have considered it.

It isnt so much bad at walking around, i have no idea if its the screen tearing affecting it, to put it in a way.

Walking left or right with vsync on, 100% silky smooth

With it off, it is like 90% silky smooth.

:/

Games incluse Deus Ex. (notice it a bit on that) Splinter Cell Conviction (Same) DNF Not so much if atall, only the usual screen tearing.

Thing is i have never done a clean driver sweep, that worrys me, last time i ever ran my pc in safemode i ****ed it up (Old rig on xp, back wheni was a nub pc gamer)

Also i do have a xbox, i had it whilst i had a ****** pc, but now my new pc cant even do anythiiing :/

I got a 1920x1080p screen but it is only 60hz so screen tearing ****ed me off.

Any advice and links for clean install of drivers.

Why'd you get an i7 2600k instead of the 2500k if it's just for gaming? (I assume it is). Coulda spent the extra saving on getting a more powerful card.

I've never had these sort of annoying problems and problems that were found were quickly solved by some googling and modifying some game settings.

I spent the money on a i7 2600 because it was on offer 50£ off and i do some other things but game, not much just casual video editing and making movies/music but other than that its primarily gaming.

I want to sell off my 6870 and purchase a 560ti 2gb, but i cant find anyone to buy this card (live in a very low techy area, people who dont really pc game mainly xbox)

Just reinstall windows. You can keep your old files. They will be placed into the windows.old directory.

That is the point, i want to keep steam files and such, would i just transfer all that from "Windows.old" to the new one?

And i have other games aswell that i really cbf to redownload, i'm gonna do a fresh install

I dont bother with overclocking, i just leave things how they are made and stick with it.

Games run fine, great fps and such, it's just an odd few have a tendancy to feel really stiff without vsync on, i dont know if its the tearing causing problems with my eyes or me just being a paranoid ****er (usually point b) but it becomes annoying.

Especially screen teairng, i learnt to deal with it lately but GODDAMN is it annoying as ****.

Skyrim was like a ****ing trainwreck for me, a depressing massive badly optimized trainwreck.

The problem isnt so bad, its just with an expensive new rig,i expect a better performance, i went from 20fps in tf2 to max settings and (this is only an example) if i come into problems i get ****ed off because its my money.,

This new monitor is gay as **** a lot of the time, 1920x1080, more problems than my 1440x900 tv. and that was 60hz too (just screen tearing really never saw it on old monitor)

Back again, i turn AA Off in every game, i dont see the point in it.

And no i dont max games, i can max Deus Ex just fine but i dont max other games with AA when not needed, only when i know i can get 60+ fps constnatly over, so i do benchmarks and tweakings

It isnt not being able to run games, its the problem with a few.

I'm saying, with vsync off if i play Deus ex or splinter cell im getting a solid 60fps but the props/environment seems a bit jumpy or unsmooth.

Conviction just feels off without vsync, i dont mind playing a few games that are single with vsync, an example being of multi is Battlefield 3, that game runs so well on my rig regardless of settings and everything feels great even with vsync on but i turn it off to get the best input i can, but some single player games i dont mind because they arent exactly twitch reflex, and even then i play bad ports (Skyrim etc) on a gamepad

so its not that anything doesnt actually run well, you just have some kind of wierd obsession with games feeling "off" without Vsync.

Right oh. * leaves *

Not trying to be rude now, but i am grateful you are leaving, you really arent any help to anyone.

I dont experience this problem with games like DNF, TF2, BF3, SR3 etc, only a few games for no given reason.

I managed to get Deus Ex to run with vsync and triple buffering on (ingame) with no mouselag, no idea how i did it but it worked.

I have a 60hz hp2311x and i did planon getting a 120hz monitor in the future.

Duke Nukem started to feel a bit juddery with vsync off, but i used triple buffering in D3Doverrider and that completely fixed tearing and mouse lag AND the judderyness

Not so much for splinter cell but thats ok to run on vsync no probs there.

An odd way of doing it but i found a sort of "Fix"

If i used D3D ingame, and have both enabled, then turn of vsync whilst alt tabbed out i dont get screen tearing and i dont get mouselag from vsync, that fixes both those problems for me.

So, pretty much ahve this kinda sorted, it is a way but it works!
