Going on a little tour of these 3 cities later this month, and looking for advice on where to go and where to eat.

All hotels and travel in between is all booked up. Also booked tickets to go to the Vienna Zoo, schonbrunn palace and belvedere. But other than that we have an open schedule for both Prague and Budapest.

2 full days in Prague and 4 days in Budapest.

When i was in Prague i went on an "insider's" walking tour which was led by a local. It was quite interesting, gave a good insight into how czechs feel about the place. My guide thought their president was an ****hole.

Budapest has the baths which were great fun. 3 'pools' - one a proper swimming one, one almost like an amusement park ride with jets all over the place, and one which is heated to 37 degrees, which is fantastic.

Top tip - pay for the lockers/changing rooms. Don't use the public ones.

Also - Catacombs were great fun, especially if there are a few of you.

Sudden - Yeh heard about the baths in Budapest, they will definitely be done. Went to Iceland in December last year and went to the Blue Lagoon, which was amazing! Will be a completely different experience in Budapest with different weather conditions!!

Mason - Thanks for the link, and cheers for the tip on the beer!!

Budapest - as has been said: the baths. Other than that, it is a great city to explore (go see some markets) and the night life is excellent. Pro tip for budapest - unlike a lot of cities in Europe, skipping the fair on the trams is a bad idea. The inspectors are corrupt and you'll have to pay an extortionate fine or leg it if you're caught.

Prague - I went on a day trip outside Prague to a beutiful castle and village called Karlstejn. Short hop on the train and well worth it, I reckon. As for eating in Prague, get away from tourist spots and the prices plummet. Just don't be afraid to walk into somewhere that looks 'local'

Edit: pro-tip for prague: I don't know how true it was but when I was there the hostel staff advised guests against jay-walking at night, when out and about getting drunk etc, as the police tend to jump at the opportunity to pull a fine from unsuspecting tourists.

Prague I would recommend having a go at the Prague Segway Tour!
Vienna I can recommend going to the 'Haus Der Musik' a music museum but a little bit different! Then finally Budapest I can recommend taking a Danube cruise, really great views!

I went to prauge for my birthday last year and we went to a great restaurant called 'Cowboys steakhouse' its an amazing looking building and the food is spot on. Best steak I've had.
