Pre-prepared garlic... options?

Have you tried the very lazy stuff as well? If so which would be your choice to replace fresh? Cheers

I did try some sort of jarred stuff but I wasn't keen, that said I think it was pickled or had something else mixed in.

I'd personally lean toward the frozen cubes or diced if any sort of prep is impossible.

Let us know how you get on, I've used the frozen cubes before but they're hit and miss depending on what you're doing, not had much experience with the chopped/diced frozen bags.
I freeze chopped garlic all the time, stored in a freezer bag, works a treat, just snap off what you need and and those vampires won't come near you all week

Will be forwarding that crushed garlic cube stuff to the wife. Very nice!

There are vacuum packed peeled garlic .(A4 size)

I grab a few bags, stick in food processor, blend.
You can then make a 'sausage' out of the blended garlic mix. Wrap baking parchment then cling film, cinch the ends.

Then freeze, and just slice off as and when.

I use a bit of olive oil and I usually make a butter version too.

That’s the one we went with (Taj). Thanks very much everyone.

We found this too, and some frozen sliced peppers, so we are going to make a sort of quorn chilli type thing.
(I have allowed use of my spices etc and tinned tomatoes lol)

I usually buy a tube of smoked garlic paste to keep in the fridge. Incredible flavour this stuff if you are a garlic lover!
Yeah, I just use the standard version of the garlic puree and also the ginger puree as well. I gave those jars of garlic a go years a go and the vinegar basically ruins it. The puree tubes have a bit of oil and "stabilisers" in it, but you still get most of the flavour through it.

Edit: In fact the Tesco version has a lot more garlic/ginger (90%) in it by the looks of things and uses oil rather than vinegar.

I agree, the vinegar taste overpowers any flavour in the jars.

Try the smoked garlic paste I linked above. It’s off the charts! :)

One of the best kitchen implements I've purchased is a garlic masher. It's like a smaller potato masher, takes like 2 seconds to mash lots of cloves
