Seriously up 2-0 to end up 2-2 after 90 mins is just laughable....sure we had some new players in but still its diabolical...if this doesnt prove to Wenger that our defence is still crap then i dont know anymore...
 
Wilshire actually has some drive and most importantly, will PASS FORWARDS. IN that last 30 minutes the amount of times a player could have passed diagonally through a couple players to push forwards, but instead passed sideways or backwards was a joke.

Wilshire in Cesc's role, Arsenal look good, Nasri playing there, all last season, all preseason, we lose any focus, we lose all forward momentum. He was a joke again today, little to no effort, didn't help out defensively, woeful, I mean truly awful corners even by Arsenal standards.

Gervinho looked far better on the wing than he did last week which is very encouraging, he's actually got some pace(but also some ability unlike Theo) so he was able to actually drive past fullbacks, for 2-3 years I've said Nasri/Arshavin just don't have that ability to burst pass fullbacks, they do a trick, but can't actually get away from the player.

Defensively, shambles again, I mean theres two main things, your CB's stay in line and stay relatively close, but ours just run off like complete individuals, since Toure/Gallas left we've not had two decent CB's nor any partnerships and thats why we make mistakes. Traore, no clue at all how he's still at Arsenal. Vela again, despite not being a winger, did ok, driving runs, essentially without players wanting to take risks, make runs and pass the ball forward you're going to struggle. In the first half Gervinho, RVP, Wilshire and Arshavin were willing to do that, in the second, it was basically just Vela and a tired Arshavin.

I don't care if we lose 5-0, I don't care about a worthless joke cup, what I want to see is Wenger going through every piece of game tape, comparing the defence to the year before aswell as 5 years ago, comparing the whole team to 6-7 years ago, working out whats wrong and actually seeing them avoiding the same mistakes over and over in these games.

I'd prefer to lose trying something to fix the problems, than draw or fluke a win playing the same crappy way which will ultimately prevent us winning any silverware.

Wenger's problem for 6 years now, complete and utter inability to even realise what the problem is, he didn't replace Denilson because he didn't realise he wasn't good enough, he hasn't dropped Sagna as he ignores that Sagna throws the defence out of shape more than anyone else in the team, etc, etc, etc.

How on earth can you go into preseason again and not see Wenger yelling at our CB's everytime they get out of line, they should frankly tie a 15m rope between the two of them in training and never let them get further apart than that, and sub them everytime they do in a game till they start working as a team.

Come on man we completely bossed the game for the most part and only struggled when they brought some fresh legs on. They are also further along in their preperations I believe. :confused:

The players that were **** are still **** but I don't think for one minute that Squillaci will get anywhere near a PL or CL game this coming season.

There were far more positives from that game, namely RvP still has last seasons shooting boots on, Gervinho looked ace and Jack and Aaron awesome.

Xavi, Iniesta, Villa, Pique, Puyol, Pedro, Thiago, Valdes, Busquets likely to play.

The way we have been playing this pre season gives me hope we can win tonight... then again, Barca B team looked scary against Bayern. They play like the first team.

Well i was listening to robbie savage, stupid i know after the arsenal match and they asked about UTD. He said, yes they have strengthened to chllenge the EPL, but need 3 great sinings to challenge for the hamps league seriously (with barca in mind)...

I didnt say that berba should hve started vs Barca but it was tactically inept not to have him on the bench i feel. Nani should have started maybe berbatov with hernandez to come on for his pace in the 2nd half..

Of course its not all negative but still to concede late goals like that today is frankly worrying because it still seems that we have a leaky defence and i just wish really wish Wenger would strengthen that part up because we have the strike force to win the EPL and other titles but our defence frankly is 3rd division stuff:p....im just glad that at least Vermaelen is back fully fit(hopefully he will stay that way for the season upcoming).
 
Squillacci looked to blame for the first goal, roamed up ahead of the rest of the defence, received a pass, then lost possession so was caught ahead of the ball and has no pace to recover. He needs to go, players like Mata would be nice to have but we need to strengthen at the back first.

Highline defence looked vulnerable again today, we are going to get picked off at will by some teams if we try and carry that forward into the Prem.

Frimpong impressed in general apart from one incident, surprising range of passing too.
