Day 1 - Had a kickabout in the park with old trainers and got a big blister on left big toe.
Day 2 - Had training with new boots, got a blister on the other toe and first blister got worse.
I'm not asking for medical advice about the blisters, but is there anything to prevent them, like an extra pair of socks?
Haven't suffered with them before but I think it's because the ground is rock solid and I haven't played properly since the under 16's. Looks like the first one is going bad ways (puss) - great start so far.
So any ideas to prevent them or is just my feet getting used to playing again? All the footwear fits fine.

After a few games the boot gets used to the contours of your feet and mould in so you wont get that many blisters.
I would never use the above technique with the dress socks inside the footy socks so they rub together instead of on your foot. Gives a lack of grip and you move about inside your boots even if they fit well.
