So what are your chat habbits?

If you email me I might read it at the end of the day.
Facebook/Google+/Twitter I might read sooner.
If you call me there's about a 50% chance I'll answer, unless I'm in the car then I'll take any call just to use the hands free system, if you leave a voicemail I'll probably listen to it right away and wait till I next meet you in person to reply.
But if you mention my nick on my hackerspace's IRC channel your message will appear on the lock screen of my phone and I'll probably connect to my weechat session right away with the iSSH app and reply to you.

At work, unless you have my work email or telephone I am un-contactable as I can't have my mobile on.

Outside of work, if I'm needed I always say to ring as most of the time I'll answer. Texts are hit and miss as I always apply the "i'll reply to that later" answer then forget. Facebook similar. Don't use google+ or twitter, I don't understand the point of twitter.

All my mates use whatsapp to arrange things and chat, similarly I'm useless with that, e-mails unless it's in my "important" one gets looked at once every other day or so, important stuff goes straight to the phone so I'll normally deal with it as soon as I see it.

I used to used Windows live messenger even at work, the whole department had an account and we would send random things to each other and ask vital quick questions.

Then skype reared its ugly head, I hate skype. But I no longer work there so it's really a non issue now. Mostly I talk via steam/ts/skype or the odd email but thats becoming less used. Texts otherwise

If you text me i may reply..
Email me i usually reply later on
Facebook message me almost instant reply unless driving
Call me is 50% chance ill answer but will if my bluetooths on when in the car
Whatsapp me i usually reply as u can see iv been online recently :(
Snapchat me ill ignore you forever

Whatever way. They all go to the same device which is on me at all times...

Text, email, skype, Hangouts.

I HAVE to use WhatsApp (for images from friends) and Facebook (for uni).

I refuse to pay the whatsapp subscription even though it's a quid and until I leave uni I can't delete my facebook because tutors use it to contact me. I would love Google Voice to hurry up and get in the UK also.

I am always reachable with 100% uptime through multiple protocols. Whatsapp, multiple email addresses, skype, text and phonecall are preferred, it's highly unlikely they would all go down at the same time.

Phone call is the best method for an immediate answer, never missed a call in my life (well maybe two or three but rang back within seconds).

Forums always get an instant reply if I see it

Texts normally after a day but I really don't like people ringing me.

Email gets a reply back after a few days unless I can think of something to say right then.
Email from that girl never gets replied to

Voicemail after a week, but I will hate you forever for making me use samsung's retarded keypad

Facebook never gets replied to (3 years of requests so far, just go away)
Nor twitter.

Letters rarely get opened

Postal forms will sit there 3+ years and still never be filled in (seriously)

Email : immediately if I'm in the house
Text : you'll be lucky if I see it
Facebook : I may look in once a day on the PC but sometimes see it on my phone
Forums : OCUK very quick, other forums when I can be bothered to log in
Letters : never open them
Phone : If I hear it

Smartphones have obviously made the coming together of texts, emails and Social Media sites like OCUK & Facebook a lot easier but I don't look at it every 2 minutes like a 14 year old girl.

If you want to talk in real time, use the phone. Except I can't usually use it at work. Texts get answered same day, as do e-mails, but no guarantee of any faster response. I've never seen any need for any other form of communication.
