Prelude or "normal" X-Fi

Still stuck making the decision over this.
Its so far gone:

1) It does DTS/DD5.1 over optical
2) Its creative
3) But it has much better drivers
4) But it does DD etc in software and the analogue has better DACS
5) but...


So - has anyone got any reliable info on these/a review or are they still vapourware?

I'm on the hunt for a prelude review as well what i am really after is whether it can output eax surround sound effects to a 5.1 system over digital instead of just anologue.

Pretty much all im after being answered to be honest If it does that, in hardware, then im sold.

there's a flaw in your list: They use the same drivers as any Crative X-Fi card.
They might improve in the future but it's not for certain.
The prelude is bound to be released at the end of the month...knowing Auzentech that means the 31st....if possible a fictional 32nd

Last I checked Creative wasn't able to do DD or Live under Vista. Unless Auzen have found a way and Creative is waiting since they are using Creatives drivers...
I honestly don't know, but from what I've read Auzentech are bringing DDL etc to Vista and Creative are not.

This driver does not support the following:
Decoding of Dolby® Digital and DTS™ signals
DVD-Audio
DirectSound®-based EAX games
6.1 speaker mode

As far as Creative think DD wont be on Vista so...
