Preparing for Lich King

I prepared for lich king by closing my account.

Ok bye then...

I am always astounded by posts like that... :/

No one ever mentions my server (Nagrand) which is surprising because it seems to be very popular at the moment.

My god I can't wait till WOTLK hits... changing my mains so trying to level level up to 68 min. Stalking people to give me instance boosts currently and it is going fairly well :) 52 now... :p

I would reroll, I just can't be bothered reinstalling the game as it will take years now with all of the patches. And the fact that I have just bought Fallout 3 so that will be taking up most of my time now.

No particular class need. As our mains we've got warrior, rogue, paladin, shaman, warlock, priest and druid! So whatever suits you. Mage to fill the gap?!

So a Mage on Alliance then? Got some in-game names I can whisper you on if I roll a char there I'm currently rewriting Joanas Tauren/Undead guides so will be on a bit later.

Edit: Just noticed its a PvP server, won't be able to do 1-70 in 4 days solo that way :P

Well, I'm reasonably up for this since most of my regular mateys on Dragonblight have stopped playing, so I'll probably transfer my Mage and my Warrior and see what I get the most fun out of/ what is most needed :)

I have a gnome mage - 70 = poor gear.
I have a Season 4 Hunter = would move both over if you wanted me to ?
I have a T6 mage, he's not moving :P

Do you reckon there's enough time to level a fresh char in time for WotLK now? I already have a Horde Hunter at 70 but if people are rolling on this realm I would level an Ally char.

Great stuff. Whatever you enjoy playing most. Although according to current feedback while warrior is now a good tank mage is superior for dps and pvp. Personally I'd pick that.

Yeah awesome, the more the better.

I'd say it would be a tight squeeze unless you can dedicate every waking hour to lvling 100% efficiently.

I also wanna make it obvious how much faster it is to lvl if you use recruit a friend. You get triple exp on both the recruitee and the recruiter so long as they're within a couple of lvls of each other.

For example what I did was go and buy a new copy of WoW (£8). Use that to recruit a friend and eventually buy the 'friend' another copy of WoW too (another £8). Then burn it through to 60 with both ultra fast. Cost outlay = £16, level 60 chars = 2, time saved over just leveling one char the normal way = ~70 hours. It's a no brainer! Then you can even transfer them both to the same account to save sub fees.

Well, what would the general plan of action be? I love my mage to death but I am more of a PvE man as far as he goes (I find spamming ice lance to be very very gutting, I can just feel the skill leeching from me as I do it). In terms of the warrior, I really enjoy tanking and quite like PvP, though I've not tried it since the new patch.

Will you be planning on PvEing? PvPing? Bit of whatever takes anyone's fancy?

When WOTLK comes out do you think they will be a masive demand in the shops to buy the game? I haven't pre-order mine and don't think I will be. I'm not in a huge rush to get to 80 as quickly as possible because of other commitments at the moment in my life (yes wow being 2nd). I was thinking I could just pop down to the High street and get a copy 1 or 2 days after its release. Whats everyone think?

If Burning Crusade was anything to go by there should be loads of copies available.

We'll be doing a bit of both, pve and pvp. Mostly pve though I guess with arenas and bgs on the side.

Give me a msg in game, name's Lockes.

I think you will find there will be plenty of copies in the shop. I am buying mine first thing on thursday. Had bad luck with pre ordering via the internet before (coming days after release)

Shameless plug:

Just to issue another quick "come join us" type call.

I'm a Raid leader for <Core> on Twilight's Hammer server. We're about #12 on alliance side for end-game in TBC (which being on the 3rd best end-game raid server in the world is quite decent). Got a fair spread of nationalities (a lot of greeks) but english speaking and generally drama free. We've got BT and MH cleared (lost a few ppl over the summer so took the 3.02 patch with the boss health reduction before we could clear BT properly).

Twilight's Hammer is currently #3 in the world for PvE progress (http://www.realmhistory.net/realm-ranking.html). Core are a little late to the party but are classed as social raiding (rather than 6 nights a week 7-12).

Sorry for the self plug. Site at www.core-th.com, we will be moving back to our old site at www.core-wow.com in a couple of weeks (hopefully).

For those on Twilights Hammer or anyone fancying a move over my main is "Kitteh", feel free to say ello.
