Hi I wonder if anyone can help, I got a few probs with my air con and I spoke to someone who seems to know what they are taking about and they mentioned that I should unplug and re-plug my "Pressure Switch" which is apparantly easy to find if you follow the pipes, does anyone have a clue what im looking for? It would help a lot thanks...

By the way the story is I get my air con regassed charged like a dog then they tell me that my compressor is faulty(£260), i dont fully believe them and nor does this guy ive spoken to, so he advised that i do this first before i start buying any parts..

Thanks in advance

It will be a device on one of the refridgerant lines, quite what you will achieve by unplugging and replugging it I do not know though. The only thing I can think of is that they think it might be dirty and somehow it is going to get a brilliant conneciton by just faffing with it, it won't. If that is the case you want to get some electrical contact cleaner in there. I can see how that might be a problem, gas pressure too low = no compressor action.

Is the compressor actually cutting in or not when you turn the a/c on? You can tell because the pulley is on a clutch, with the a/c off the central part of the pulley will be stopped, and it should start spinning when turned on.

Right this is what happens I turn my engine on and sometimes if i hit the Air Con switch it will blow cold air for about 3 mins, and then back to warm air, on some occasions the rev count will slightly increase as i turn it on, but not always and in terms of hearing a click or something, that i have never hear in my car!

If you can point me in the right direction it would be great as im losing weight with the amount of heat in my car!!!
