I am looking to buy a pressure washer mainly for use on the cars. After looking online the Karcher K4 and K5 Full Control models seem to be ok but i have read that the pumps don't last long and i was advised to look at the Nilfisk range as they are built much better?

What would you recommend please.

Nilfisk, very good.

Although the cheap jobbie I bought from Aldi last year has proved to be immortal thus far, cleaned my patio numerous times with great results, left it out in the rain overnight - and out in the frost - yet it still works!

Nilfisk p150.2 have one here very good machine, pricey but good, keep looking at the jetmac petrol ones and getting the itch to change to petrol

My first Nilfisk had a faulty switch, it was replaced and that one has been fine. If I'm being critical the lance feels quite flimsy when using the patio brush.

I've found Nilfisk to be a reliable brand, had a couple now over nearly a ten year period. I had Karcher before and found them to be terrible, poor reliability but got the pressure washer name through decent marketing all those years ago as the brand to go for.

Another vote for the nilfisk, mines had 5+ years of absolute abuse, being lent to neighbors, friends, carted up and down scaffolding, etc and still going strong, the only thing thats happened is one of the plastic clips which holds the lance firm when not in use has snapped, but sure if I could be bothered it would be a 2 minute fix.

Nilfisk are ok but the handles are a weak point, they do tend to start to leak with time and eventually fail. They’re also nowhere near as well made as they were - I know a whole batch sold by a detailing outfit were faulty and they’re on about not stocking them any more.

Best of the bunch is Kranzle - but they’re not cheap. You’re taking 600 quid for a K10/122TS but you’ll never buy another machine again.

Nilfisk are decent for a cheap machine. Though I'm sure I heard recently they stopped using the metal pumps, best to check before buying.

I now have a Kranzle and it is much better than anything else I've used and should last forever.

If money was no object then yes, I'd probably love a Kranzle, however £600 buys a lot of Nilfisk's though - C110 can at times be had for <£50 - even if they only last 5 years each.

Got a nilfisk titan from argos was under 120 quid but fully loaded. Has long pipe and car washing and patio cleaning attachments. Works well and is recommended.
