Prestige Car Servicing

The point is, I am asking for opinions of people that have used them, have you used them?

You also commented that the prices seemed pretty good, thus inviting opinion on this.

If not, then your opinion is invalid.

It's not, because I am able to explain to you how for certain services, they are more expensive than a main dealer.

Understand?

No.

Tell us what the car is and where you are and someone will either come up with some idea or point you in the right direction.

At the end of the day good garages can trade on their reputation and don't need shiny web sites.

No.

Yes, SEEMED.

I am not an expert on car servicing costs and came across this site tonight and thought I would ask her for any experience of the place as I am planning to have my car serviced in the next couple of months.

If you don't think so and explain why then great, but don't start at me with your pathetic know it all attitude you throw around here so much, I'm not interested.

And if anyone else does want to contribute to a genuine question then please do but it seems that all its attracting is more lemmings.

I did explain why! I pointed out that some of the servicing costs exceeded those of a main franchised dealer. What more did you want me to do? Of course I have no experience of them, why would I pay more than my local main dealer in order to experience them? In this case the fact nobody has used them speaks for itself surely.

It doesnt matter if the service is utterly exceptional if they charge more than the main dealer does - because why would you pay more than main dealer prices for an independant stamp in your book? You don't even get to see the place that does the work, the car is collected and driven away to goodness knows where...

Thats some massive perception problem you've got there.

More than a main dealer for the Mondeo too

Why would you plan to have your car serviced in a few months - you talk about it like it's something that happens once every 5 years?

I'd take the advice on offer here if I were you, it is not good value and there is really no reason I can think of to use them, you might aswell just use the main dealer.

Why wouldnt you? I plan to have my car serviced in a few months as well

The wording more than anything - servicing isn't the sort of thing you start to shop around for months before it's due.... or is it?

Dont see why not.

Because prices dont really tend to change year from year and it's not a huge expense in the context of running a car?

Also sounded like it could happen anytime in the next few months....anyway, just sounded odd - some people I know will run a car for years then get a service when they can be bothered, it's the sort of thing that sort of person would say

147.00 for an oil service? I can get that done for 35.00 at a small independant in chingford and hes a well regarded mechanic with a good rep from all the people who use him. Did a Focus for my mate the other day, brake inspection/clean, cabin filter, oil and filter + spark plugs (car has over 100k on it) for 110 quid.

[edit. 35 not 25 heh]

the prices are no cheaper than the vauxhall dealers either.

Shop around or just go to your local dealer if your willing to pay those prices.

My next service is an Inspection II, so obviously I've been looking around at prices so I know what to pay when the time comes. I suspect the OP is of a similar mindset.

Erm National's loss leader aside you cannot even buy the oil required for an oil service, trade, for 35 quid let alone perform the work.
