What's there not to understand. Britain had only three real poets in second half of 20th century - They were respectively Peter Gabriel, Roger Waters and rather large scottish bloke called Derek William Dick. The faces on newspapers lying by the mailbox in the hollway will be forgotten but your grand children will be tought about those three in school.

My nomination:
Anything by McCartney or Lennon is pretentious if not straigh infantile.
