Don't think they're better than the defaults, personally. Just more rounded.

They're much better tbh, I don't like the xp default ones, look too "kiddy"

Yea that sitll works.

But doesn't even work in safe-mode or via Task Manager.

Worked fine for me! I updated the old tango patcher with the new one and it works fine! the new lgoon screen is quIte nice too

XP Home with SP2. I haven't tried a restore no, but perhaps the BicroPack I was using before has messed it up? I have uninstalled it and it hasn't changed the icons back. :rolleyes:

Somethings gone wrong somewhere as when I booted up (before uninstalling) it came up with a Line Paraser (sp?) error. :confused:

Hmm v.strange. Just ran RegSeeker and it found a load of items, which it removed. And now it restarts fine! :confused:

Ah goodo. Sounds as if you tried something else which borked ye registry up a bit.

I have uninstalled this using restore-o-matic and now a lot of the icons still remane and the shutdown window still remanes they have not reverted back to the normal windows xp icons :eek:

, does anyone know how to fix this ?

just tryed both packs and........nice i like the blue folders better than the orange ones and the startup shutdown screens are a touch of pure class much cleaner and more modern than the dated XP ones now if only there was a patch to allow 32bit images at boot screen now that would make me happy preferably in the same style as the shutdown screen

btw the patch works fine for me fresh install (only lastnight) with just the essentials

firewall
ultramon
modified uxtheme.dll
nvidia drivers
winamp
spybot

nothing else is important

Oh crap, the 2.jpg I had before got overwritten recently which is why it's showing the wrong image, lmao!

I will update them shortly!

BTW the default XP screensaver is also Tango'd

Doesnt really do it for me. I suppose it works better with a decent VS. XPise is just 'ready' to use, and represents everything XP should have been without being cheesy.

XPize is very cool - only once you see the comparison screenshots do you realise how outdated XP looks in some areas, due to images etc that haven't been replaced. Shame on MS for not fixing that themselves.
